Language & Tools

Ubuntu Server, ESXi/VMware, Docker, Ollama, Open WebUI, LiteLLM, Node.js (discord.js), Python, Bash. Most of my time goes to standing up self-hosted AI stacks and figuring out why they fall over.

Currently Exploring

Autonomous Claude Code configurations and self-hosted agentic AI on Ubuntu 24.04 / ESXi 8 -- handing an agent real infrastructure and documenting where it gets things wrong.

Achievements

Quoted in Newsweek as a technical source. I run The Digital First Responder (blog.vertexops.org), incident analysis and infrastructure writing for practitioners. 100 Club and 1,000 Club here on Coder Legion.

Fun Fact

I write children's books on the side. Same person who breaks down OAuth kill chains during the week is writing a globe-trotting kids' series on the weekend.

Random Dev Quote

The article that taught me the most was always the one where I admitted what broke before I explained how I fixed it.

Headline: Systems engineer writing about self-hosted AI, infrastructure security, and what actually breaks in production.
About: Systems engineer working in public safety, focused on infrastructure that has to stay up when it matters. I write about self-hosted AI, virtualization, and cybersecurity at The Digital First Responder (blog.vertexops.org) -- mostly incident breakdowns and homelab builds, with an emphasis on what broke and why I didn't see it coming.
