One of these "professional opportunities" email was actually how I found CoderLegion:
It was fishy because it arrived at an Email address that was not connected to the platfor they claimed "read and liked my work" on. They kept repeating that their platform "works like Dev.to" but never mentioned the name. The URL behind Dev.to had http instead of https, and through googling the sender email I found CoderLegion and saw that their official email domain is slightly different.
