Your actual job as the developer is stitching that tool's booking widget/API into a WordPress front-end that doesn't feel bolted-on.
A few things that consistently trip people up on these builds:
Embed widget vs. API integration. Most of these platforms offer a quick embeddable booking widget (iframe or JS snippet) — fine for a fast launch, but styling control is limited and it often breaks the page's mobile responsiveness if not tested carefully. A deeper API integration gives full styling control but adds real dev time; scope this explicitly in the quote, don't assume it's included in a "basic booking setup."
Timezone and availability sync bugs. These surface constantly with mobile groomers who serve multiple towns across time zones or DST boundaries — always test booking flows across at least two time zones before calling it done.
Service-area pages vs. one generic "areas we serve" page. For local SEO, one page per service area with unique content outperforms a single page listing every town. This is a content-architecture decision, not just a design one, and it changes the page count (and therefore the quote) meaningfully.
Deposit/cancellation policy logic living in two places. If the scheduling tool handles deposits but the website also displays a cancellation policy in text, keep these in sync — a mismatch (site says 24hr, booking tool enforces 48hr) creates support tickets and client friction after launch.
