Interesting perspective. I think AI makes good developers faster, but fundamentals still matter. Great read.
Is AI Making Us Worse Developers?

And the worst part is that we create agents to review AI generated code, yet we often don't review the code ourselves.
At the end of the day, if the business flow is wrong, who will be held accountable? Claude, Codex, or Cursor?
AI can assist, generate, and even review code, but responsibility for the final outcome still belongs to us.

Brain is like muscle - stop training it, it will atrophy. Using AI is a lazy shortcut. Sure, if you are a backend dev, it can save you time writing a lot of frankly boring code that mostly glues models at various boundaries together. However using it for actually interesting features is doing disservice to your brain.
Also also - who cares if it makes you faster? Unless you have your own startup and working on your own project, being faster nets no tangible benefit to you personally. Majority of that benefit goes straight into your CEO's pocket.
