Really liked the idea of deliberately freezing requests in tests, that zombie UI example from aragossaLeader felt painfully familiar. Curious if teams actually keep these UX checks in CI long term or if they get dropped over time?

Great question!
Teams definitely drop them if they slow down every PR. The trick to keeping them long-term is Scope and Determinism.
Scope: Only apply this to critical 'money' paths (Sign Up, Checkout).
Determinism: Don't use random lag. Use a fixed 3s delay so the test never flakes.
When the test is stable and protects the Payment button, nobody wants to delete it!
