The non destructive preview UV layer idea is such a relief, feels like how UV work should have always been. Curious how this plays with really dense hard surface meshes.

On dense hard-surface meshes, the non-destructive preview remains safe because it temporarily applies seams and restores them immediately after unwrapping. While the preview writes to the active UV map, it avoids permanent seam changes or topology edits, keeping the workflow stable and controlled even on complex geometry.
