A teammate exports a report filtered to October 1–31, then sends it to someone in another timezone. The file has a column called "Created at" and no explanation of which clock it uses. A record near midnight now looks as though it belongs to the wrong day.
There are two choices hiding here: how each timestamp is displayed, and which timezone defines the date-range boundaries. Labeling the column only answers the first.
For a hypothetical export screen, one option is to show the reporting timezone beside the date filter, then carry it into the exported column names or a small metadata section. Another is to offer UTC consistently, with a preview before download.
What would you choose for a report people mainly exchange as CSV files? Where would you put the timezone information so it survives copying columns into another spreadsheet, without making every header difficult to read?
