Day 2 of restarting my journey toward becoming an AI FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer).
It's only the second day, but I wanted to keep documenting what I'm actually doing — even when the progress isn't huge.
Today, I completed the Week 1 module of the AWS AI Essentials course.
Why AWS?
I'm currently participating in the AWS Builder Challenge and the Amazon Challenge, so I thought this would be a good time to start understanding AWS and its services better.
I don't want to simply use cloud services because a tutorial told me to.
I want to understand what I'm actually using and why.
Interestingly, the first week's content wasn't mainly about AWS services.
It focused on two areas:
Responsible AI
The module covered responsible AI usage and guidelines for building AI applications.
This is something I want to take seriously as I continue learning AI engineering.
Building an AI application isn't only about getting the model to produce an output.
There are also questions around responsible usage, risks, reliability, and how the application is actually used.
Prompt Engineering
The other major topic was prompt engineering.
Understanding how to communicate effectively with AI systems is still an important practical skill when building AI applications.
So even though I didn't spend today learning a long list of AWS services, I still walked away with some useful foundations.
Restarting DSA
I also restarted my DSA practice today.
I solved one LeetCode problem.
That's it.
Not a huge achievement.
But I'm okay with that.
After failing to execute my previous 180-day plan, I'm trying something different this time.
I'm not going to measure every day by how much I managed to accomplish.
For now, I want to build the habit of showing up consistently.
One problem today is better than zero.
Tomorrow, I'll try to take another step.
Getting back to Waymark
I'm also going to start working on Waymark again.
One thing I don't want this journey to become is endless course consumption.
I want to:
Learn → Build → Break things → Fix them → Document → Repeat.
That's where I think the real learning will happen.

Today's progress:
✅ Completed Week 1 of AWS AI Essentials
✅ Learned about Responsible AI
✅ Learned Prompt Engineering fundamentals
✅ Restarted DSA
✅ Solved 1 LeetCode problem
🚀 Preparing to start working on Waymark
It's only Day 2.
The numbers aren't impressive yet.
But the goal right now isn't to impress anyone.
It's to build momentum and keep going.
Day 2 done.
