Picxel: For indie game developers

Making game assets takes time, especially when you're an indie developer working alone. I built Picxel to help turn reference images into recognizable pixel-art assets.
The workflow combines AI redrawing with local image-processing code. Codex interprets the reference and directs image generation, then Picxel refines the palette, handles transparency and samples the artwork onto a real pixel grid. You can export transparent PNGs at 32, 64 and 128 px, individually or in batches.

GPT-6 Astra helped develop and iterate on the core pipeline through repeated visual tests. Claude Code contributed to the panel and UI, while I guided the product and evaluated the results.

Picxel is open source under GPLv3. It uses an image-generation-enabled Codex session and its existing quota, with no separate API key.
I'd love feedback from indie developers and pixel artists: which assets would you try first, and what would make the results more useful in your workflow?
