I’ve been working with ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek, Gemini, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot, and I’ve found that each one has its own strengths.
ChatGPT: A strong all-rounder. Great for coding, AI development, automation, research, reasoning, and turning ideas into practical solutions.
Claude: Excellent for deep reasoning, understanding large amounts of information, code review, and producing clear, natural writing.
DeepSeek: Very capable for coding, mathematics, technical problem-solving, and cost-efficient AI development.
Gemini: Strong with multimodal tasks, long-context work, research, documents, and workflows connected to the Google ecosystem.
Perplexity: Particularly useful for research and finding up-to-date information, with a strong focus on web search and source-backed answers.
Microsoft Copilot: Strong for productivity and business workflows, especially when working with Microsoft 365, coding through GitHub Copilot, and integrating AI into everyday development and office tasks.
For me, the biggest takeaway is that there isn't one model that wins at everything. The real advantage comes from knowing which model to use for which problem and combining them when needed.
Different strengths, different use cases and together, they make a very useful AI toolkit.
