Are developers underestimating the browser?

Think about your current frontend workflow. We constantly upgrade our libraries, our bundlers, and our deployment pipelines. We swap out transpilers to save fractions of a second.

But when was the last time we stopped to appreciate the sheer engineering magnitude of the browser itself?

The modern browser is a heavily optimized, JIT-compiled, hardware-accelerated powerhouse. Yet, when we reach for a web IDE or a live code editor to quickly test a concept, the platforms we use often feel sluggish. They are wrapped in layers of unnecessary abstraction.

I’ve been building NitroIDE to try and solve this by creating an online IDE that acts as a direct interface to the browser's native power, rather than fighting it. But I want to know what the community thinks.

Why do we accept heavy, bloated development environments when the underlying engine (the browser) is incredibly fast? Have we lost sight of building lightweight, efficient tools in favor of adding more complexity? Thoughts?
