Most resumes never reach a human. They get scanned, scored, and tossed aside by software before anyone reads a single word.
I found this out the hard way. Dozens of job applications, zero replies. Not because I wasn't qualified. My resume just wasn't built for how hiring actually works.
So instead of guessing, I built something to fix it.
Companies use Applicant Tracking Systems like Lever, Greenhouse, and Workday to filter candidates. Think of them as gatekeepers. If your resume doesn't parse correctly, you're out before a recruiter ever sees your name.
Here's what happens. You upload your resume. The ATS tries to read it and dump the information into a database. But if you're using columns, icons, graphics, or complex layouts, the system gets confused. It might scramble your work history, drop your contact info, or just give up entirely.
Missing keywords? Lower score. Fancy design? It might not read anything at all.
I've seen strong candidates get filtered out because of formatting alone. Not skills. Not experience. Just formatting.
So I made a simple ATS-friendly resume builder. Nothing fancy. Just clean structure that parsing software can actually read. No broken layouts. Just your information in a format that works.
You can try it right now and you don't need to sign up for anything. No email. No account. Just open it and use it.

It's built for developers but honestly works for anyone. The layout is simple on purpose. You can fill it out in under five minutes. No ads popping up. No distractions trying to sell you something. Just a tool that does one thing and does it well.
I built this because I was stuck in that no-reply loop myself and couldn't find a free option without jumping through hoops.
If you'd rather work offline or want a version you can fully customize and keep on your own computer, I made a downloadable version too. Same clean structure, but you own it. Tweak it however you like.

I'm working on a bigger version with smarter features. Keyword suggestions based on the actual job description. Role-specific optimization for frontend, backend, data, and DevOps roles. Better export options so you can save as PDF, Word, or plain text.
If you have ideas or run into problems with the current tool, reply to this post. I'm building this because I needed it myself, and I want to make it actually helpful for other people.
If you're job hunting, try the live builder. See if it changes how many responses you get. It's free and takes a few minutes.
And if it helps you land an interview, pass it along to another developer who's still waiting for that first reply. Sometimes the only thing standing between you and an interview is a resume an ATS can actually read.
