Version 1.2 Release Notes

Version 1.2 introduces long-awaited improvements to high-resolution map creation. You can now paint at higher resolutions and export maps up to 128K, making them suitable as base maps for GIS workflows.

Map Rendering & View Options

  • Render specific map types, including height maps and biome maps
  • Toggle grid overlay
  • Enable latitude-based shading

UI & Theme Updates

  • New default map theme: Lefebvre 2
  • Added a status bar to the GUI
  • General layout fixes and overall stability improvements

World & Seed Management

Each planet consists of:

  • A base map
  • A randomization seed

From the File menu, creating a new world generates both a new generalized map and a new seed. You can also randomize only the seed, allowing subtle variations without changing the overall layout. Lower-resolution maps define large-scale features (e.g., continents), while the procedural system fills in finer, sub-continental details.

We hope you enjoy these updates and find them valuable in your creative work!
