A few weeks ago, I shared some early lessons from building in public and the role AI has played in shaping my journey. Today, I want to talk about the project that’s been at the center of my focus: Contentide.
The problem that started it all
Like many people, I’ve always had an on-again, off-again relationship with posting on LinkedIn. I’d sit down to share an update, an idea, or even just a small reflection, and then freeze.
Is this too formal?
Does this even sound like me?
Will anyone care?
Often, the post never left my drafts.
When I started talking to friends, colleagues, and other professionals, I realized the problem was widespread. Many of them wanted to post, but felt blocked by the blank page or worried about losing authenticity if they used AI tools.
My intention with Contentide
That’s where Contentide came in. I didn’t want another "AI content generator" that spits out generic posts. The internet already has plenty of those. Instead, I wanted to build something that feels more like a co-writer:
You start with your own rough notes, bullet points, or half-written draft.
Contentide helps you shape it into something polished and coherent.
You still edit and make it yours, so the final voice is authentically you.
The core belief behind Contentide is simple: AI should support your voice, not replace it.
Why focus on LinkedIn?
While other platforms are loud and fast, LinkedIn is where many professionals quietly struggle. Posting there has a real impact on careers, opportunities, and relationships, but the barrier is higher. You want to sound thoughtful, but not stiff. Authentic, but still professional.
That’s the gap Contentide is trying to fill.
Building in public
Technically, the tool is built with Next.js, Supabase, and OpenAI’s API, but more important than the stack is the process. I’ve been building in public, sharing wins and challenges openly. This helps me stay accountable, but it also keeps the feedback loop alive.
The feedback so far has already shaped how Contentide works, especially around keeping the user’s voice intact. That’s something I’ll keep refining with every update.
