I like the idea of that floating dot as a desktop shortcut layer more than a full launcher stack, nice thought. Curious though: in what ways do you think this could evolve without turning into another Rainmeter situation?

@[Ben Kiehl] Hey Ben, fascinating question indeed! I like the way it currently uses context menu for actions - I've tried similar concepts that binds to keyboard shortcuts (like AutoHotKey) and find gradually it pollutes available key bindings.
It's hard to say whatever is needed for The Big White Dot - at the moment there is one other thing that I feel would be useful: if there is a way to quickly allow voice input and do transcription, e.g. aid in typing things, that would be helpful.
Along that line, I think voice-based commands would be interesting and non-intrusive: the user would tap/click on the dot, then trigger a voice command session.
