Human Insight in an AI-Driven Job Market

posted 1 min read

Yesterday I had one of the shortest technical interviews of my career just 10 minutes. But in those few minutes, I encountered a senior engineer whose depth of knowledge left a lasting impression.

I didn't make it past the round, but I walked away with something more valuable: perspective.

This kind of fast-track interviewing is increasingly common, especially in mass hiring pipelines. Unfortunately, it often leads to a mismatch between expectations, company culture, and retention. Even the interviewer admitted most candidates had zero clue about the company they applied to.

In a world where AI is optimizing workflows and job boards are flooded with auto-submitted resumes, I believe the human touch still matters. Research, intent, and preparation go a long way and they reflect more than just technical readiness.

Rejections can sting, but they also reveal how systems human and AI-driven could serve us better.
