Day 1 of 30 - I Built A Blackjack Game

I officially began my 30 days of code challenge today and I built a simple Blackjack game.

The goal of this project was to brush up my javaScript skills which might be getting rusty.😁

Why a Blackjack game? You may ask.

For real, I didn't choose the project. It was a code-along project that came with the course. But no, not the kind of code along you might be thinking. Every step of the project was a challenge I had to try myself before the instructor did. Which is the more reason why I love this course!

The aim of this game was to learn practically:

  • JavaScript Conditionals
  • Dom manipulation
  • And a little bit of Function.

How the Blackjack game works

The Blackjack is a card game. And the strategy is that you have to pull a sum of 21 card numbers to win the game.

So when the sum of the card numbers you pulled is less than 21, you're still in the game and still stand a chance to win. But when the sum of the card numbers is greater than 21, you're unfortunately out of the game and would have to start a new game.

This was all I did in JavaScript today, then I rendered the figures on the HTML page using the DOM.

It was so cool having to write even the least of codes in this project by hand without any care or pressure for AI. But then...AI is here to stay isn't it?

I hope to spice things up a little more tomorrow. Stay tuned😁
