Tesla or Edison?
I've been looking at this question a little differently lately.
What Edison did was incredible.
He could take an idea out of the laboratory and turn it into a machine, a product, a company, and eventually an industry.
Tesla was wired differently.
Sometimes, the problem wasn't the technology he had.
It was the problem itself.
While everyone was trying to improve something, he would step back and rethink how the system itself should work.
In 1898, when he demonstrated a wirelessly controlled boat in front of an audience, remote control, robotics, and autonomous systems as we know them today didn't really exist.
What Tesla was doing wasn't just moving a boat.
He was saying:
“We can control machines differently.”
Then his laboratory burned down.
He started again.
He went to Colorado Springs.
He thought about the world's electrical system.
He thought about wireless communication.
Sometimes he was right.
Sometimes he was wrong.
Sometimes he was simply far ahead of his time.
But there was one constant:
He wasn't satisfied with the existing answer.
I think that's where the Tesla side of my approach to HUQAN comes from too.
When AI agents emerged, the first instinct was:
“How do we make the agent smarter?”
“How do we train the model better?”
“How do we write a better prompt?”
I tend to look at it from a slightly different angle.
Can we build AI better — even with a fundamentally different architecture — while making it dramatically more cost-efficient?
And can we do that without simply using another model to solve the problem?
HUQAN came partly from that question.
I'm choosing Tesla
Because sometimes, instead of producing a better answer,
you need to change the question itself.
