I am Tejas S A, a student at JNNCE (Class of 2029), and I am excited to announce that I have been selected as a Google Summer of Code 2026 contributor for LibreHealth.
My daily work revolves around Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and DevOps. I am interested in building and training models with PyTorch, and I love to optimize those models using ONNX.
Automated Artifact Detection and Annotation
This summer, my focus will be on the Automated Artifact Detection and Annotation project for LibreHealth Radiology.
In medical imaging, artifacts are visual anomalies that appear in radiology scans. These can be caused by image noise, patient movement, scanner errors, or objects like pacemakers and jewelry. These artifacts can sometimes obscure important anatomical details or complicate a radiologist's workflow.
The goal of this project is to build an automated workflow that can detect these artifacts within medical images. Once detected, the system will visually annotate them directly within the LibreHealth radiology interface. By automating this detection process, we can help streamline diagnostics and make the viewing experience significantly more efficient for healthcare professionals.
