What it is
dochost turns HTML into a URL and Markdown into HTML, in seconds. Paste or upload your content, get a public link back, share it. No account, no build step, no config.
Why I built it
Every few days I had something that only needed to be looked at by one other person: a rendered README, a one-off landing page, an HTML report a script had generated, an API reference. The usual answer is a repo plus a static site generator plus a build plus a host plus a deploy. That is a reasonable pipeline for a site you maintain for years, and a bad fit for a page that has to exist for an afternoon.
What it does
- Paste or upload HTML, or Markdown, and get a public URL
- Live preview while you edit, so a broken heading gets caught before you send the link
- Clean rendered page on a shareable URL
- Pages stay editable, because the first version of anything is rarely the one people read
- No signup for the basic flow
Worth being explicit: this is for pages with a short shelf life or a small audience. Anything you want to rank in search, version alongside your code, or brand as part of your product still belongs on your own domain with a real build pipeline. Publishing your actual marketing pages on a lightweight host trades a small convenience now for a real cost later.
