Can Surgical Teams Shape the Future of Agentic Software Development? 🩺

In his classic book The Mythical Man-Month, Fred Brooks introduces the surgical team metaphor where the head surgeon (a chief programmer) write the critical code while other developers take on supporting roles (i.e., copilot, toolsmith, administrator, etc.) to handle project setup, testing, tooling, and coordination.

We’re looking for developers (at least 18 years old) to complete a short survey about this metaphor and opportunities for AI agents. Select participants will have the opportunity to join a live focus group, where you will try out coding tasks with different agent-human configurations. Participants who complete the survey and follow-up study will receive a $50 online gift card for their contribution. To sign up, please complete the survey below. More details are available here. Thank you for your consideration and your insights to advance agentic software development!
