Hmm 🤔 I went through a period of pretty serious AI burnout at work, but these days I’m much closer to the approach you’re describing.
I think it’s mostly about finding the right balance and using these tools intentionally. At work, I try to delegate tasks that I already know how to do but that would be tedious and time-consuming manually. That gives me more time for architecture, experimenting with different solutions, and solving the more interesting problems.
At the same time, I don’t want to become completely dependent on AI, so in my free time I’ve started working on projects where I don’t use it at all, especially while learning Zig.
I think AI can be an incredible productivity boost when you already have solid experience with a language or technology. But when learning something new, there’s still a lot of value in doing things from scratch yourself.
