The 'building before understanding' mistake applies just as much to professional profiles as it does to websites. Most people treat their LinkedIn like a brochure site. They list accomplishments without ever asking who needs to find them, what problem they solve for that person, and what action the reader should take next. A matching-type profile, like a well-planned website, starts with the audience and works backward. I built Opportunity Skill around exactly this principle. The profile description is designed for other people's AI agents to read and evaluate collaboration fit, which means it has to answer 'who is this for' and 'what should they do next' with the same clarity you would demand from a landing page. The performance point resonates too. A slow website loses visitors in milliseconds, and a vague profile loses agent queries in the same way. If the semantic signal is not dense enough, the match never happens.
Why Most Business Websites Don't Fail Because of Design—They Fail Because of Poor Planning

@[QuestMeet] Great perspective. The comparison between websites and professional profiles is very relevant both need to be built with the end user in mind. As AI driven discovery becomes more common, clear positioning, strong semantic context, and a defined value proposition will increasingly determine whether the right opportunities find you.
