ComplianceLint — The linter for EU AI Act compliance

ComplianceLint runs inside your IDE. The name comes from ESLint — ESLint is the linter for JavaScript, ComplianceLint is the linter for compliance. EU AI Act is the first regulation it supports; the architecture is built from day one to extend to GDPR, CRA, NIS2, DORA, ISO 27001, and beyond.

How it works

  • AI reads your entire codebase and checks against 247 obligations decomposed from 44 EU AI Act articles
  • Every finding carries verbatim legal citation, obligation ID, and remediation steps
  • Code stays on your machine — the MCP scanner is 100% local
  • Deterministic obligation engine — same code, same result, every time
  • SaaS dashboard tracks Compliance Journey, Human Gates questionnaires (FRIA, Art. 14 oversight, Art. 26(7) worker notifications), and audit-ready PDF exports (Declaration of Conformity, Technical Documentation)
  • Evidence commits to your own git repo — we never hold your files

AI is the eyes. The engine is the brain.

Why ComplianceLint vs other tools

  • Other tools check if RISK_MANAGEMENT.md exists — ComplianceLint reads the entire codebase against 247 decomposed legal obligations
  • Other tools cite vaguely ("you need logging") — ComplianceLint cites verbatim from EUR-Lex (e.g., Art. 12(1): "High-risk AI systems shall technically allow...")
  • Other tools upload to the cloud — ComplianceLint runs locally
  • Other tools have separate subscriptions — ComplianceLint is free and source-available (BSL 1.1), uses your existing AI IDE

Who needs this

  • AI product teams — building chatbots, recommendation engines, content generation
  • Solo developers & founders — shipping AI products before enforcement begins
  • CTOs & engineering leads — compliance visibility without hiring a legal team
  • Compliance officers — code-level evidence, not checkbox questionnaires

If your software uses AI and you serve EU customers, the EU AI Act applies to you.
