Most startup tracking advice is written for funded companies with dedicated data teams.

If you are an indie founder or solo developer building a product, you do not need a data warehouse. You need five numbers and ten minutes every Monday.

Here they are.

MRR tells you if people value what you built enough to pay for it. Track weekly not monthly so you see trends early.

Active users defined by a real action in your product, not just a login. This is the number that tells you if people are actually using what you built.

New signups per week is your top-of-funnel health check. If this is flat or dropping, you have a discovery problem.

Churn rate monthly. High churn is almost always a product problem. Do not pour more users into a leaky bucket.

One milestone per week to keep the qualitative picture alive. First paying user. First user from organic search. Feature shipped based on user feedback. These matter as much as the numbers.

Update these five numbers every Monday morning. Write two sentences about what happened. Share it publicly.

That is the whole system.

The public sharing is what makes the habit stick. When your numbers are visible, you have a reason to keep them updated. When tracking is private it is easy to skip indefinitely.
