The Magic You Are Finding Is in the Work You Are Avoiding

Yes, you’ve probably heard this quote before. And that’s exactly why I used it — to grab your attention and remind you to start the work you’ve been avoiding.

The Endless Cycle of Ideas & Procrastination

We get ideas all the time — when working, attending classes, eating lunch, talking with friends, riding a bike, or even taking a shower. We think:

  • “This is a great idea! I should work on it.”
  • “This will be fun and interesting!”
  • “I’ll learn something new!”

But… as time passes, procrastination kicks in.

  • “Maybe the weekend is the best time to start.”
  • When the weekend arrives: “Is my idea even good enough?”
  • Another week passes, and soon… we don’t even remember the idea we once thought was amazing.

My Story: A Blog That Almost Never Happened

Six to eight months ago (June — August 2024), I had the idea to start blogging. A friend influenced me, but I wanted to take a different approach — covering a broad range of topics like Health, Fitness, Business, Finance, Career, and Tech.

But months passed, and I made no progress. It became just another great idea that faded away.

The problem?

  • The idea was too big.
  • I felt overwhelmed thinking about structure, consistency, and content.
  • Thoughts like “What if I can’t continue?” or “Writing isn’t my thing!” kept me from starting.

How I Finally Made It Happen

Fast forward to January 30, 2025. I followed the Box Model — which says:
Focus on small steps instead of the big picture.

I changed my mindset:

I just need to write ONE blog. Just one.”

And it worked. Within one hour, I wrote my first blog — “The Start That Matters” — and published it on Medium.

The Magic Moment

Later, when I saw my name on Google with a published blog — something I had wanted to do for months — it felt like magic.

The lesson? Just start. The magic you’re searching for is in the work you keep avoiding.

Final Thought

I was overthinking what to write today — until I came across the quote:
The Magic You Are Finding Is in the Work You Are Avoiding.”

So I stopped thinking and just wrote this.

Now it’s your turn. Whatever you’ve been putting off — just start. You’ll feel the magic too.

Thank You for Your Time!

this hit hard! Procrastination is such a sneaky beast—got so many ideas that never see the light of day. Mad respect for pushing through and finally making it happen! Quick question tho—how do you keep that momentum going after the first step? Like, how do you stop from slipping back into overthinking mode?

I'm Glad that you liked it. To answer your question:

It is true that procrastination thoughts come to everyone, including me. But as in when it comes in, I argue with myself, whether avoiding this work for now, will keep me away from the goal which I decided to achieve? If yes, then surely do that work now only. However, there can be multiple situations under which this answer can be different.
