We recently built the referral page for Recipe Finder: https://recipe-finder.org/invite-one-free-month. The goal was to make referrals feel like a real product feature, not just a static landing page.

On the frontend, we used

  • Vue 3
  • TypeScript
  • Vite
  • Vuetify

to build the page and referral UI.
For auth we used Auth0, and on the backend we used Node.js + Express, deployed with Firebase Functions, with MongoDB/Mongoose handling referral codes, invite tracking, and reward state.
The flow is simple: a user shares their referral link, the app captures the code from the URL, a new user claims it securely, and once Stripe confirms a paid Premium signup, we automatically extend the inviter’s Premium by 30 days.

Give it a try: https://recipe-finder.org/invite-one-free-month
