CatchDoms: find SEO expired domains

CatchDoms: find SEO expired domains

posted 2 min read

Why I built CatchDoms

If you've ever tried to find a good expired domain, you know the pain. You check 10+ registrars manually, cross-reference SEO metrics from different tools, and by the
time you've done your homework, someone already grabbed it.

I built CatchDoms to pull everything into one place (domains, metrics, scoring) so you can spot valuable domains in seconds instead of hours.

What makes CatchDoms different

Most domain tools just list expired domains. CatchDoms pulls SEO data from 6 sources and scores every domain automatically, so you only see what's actually worth looking
at.

Core features

12 sources, one interface

  • Auctions: GoDaddy, DropCatch, Catched, Gname, SnapNames, Park.io, BloomUp
  • Closeouts: Dynadot, GoDaddy
  • Dropping: UKDroplists, Subreg, WebExpire
  • Deleted domains: found via Common Crawl analysis across 49 ccTLDs, available at registration price

SEO enrichment pipeline

Every domain gets enriched with:

  • Wayback Machine: age, snapshot count, language detection
  • Trust Flow / Citation Flow (SEObserver)
  • Domain Authority, Backlinks, Referring Domains (DataForSEO)
  • PageRank (Open PageRank)
  • Google Indexation check for deleted domains
  • Google My Business detection, so you can find domains with existing GMB listings

Smart scoring (0-100)

The algorithm weighs age, authority, backlinks, auction interest, name quality, and TLD. Filter by score 30+, 50+, or 70+ to cut through the noise.

Regfree: deleted domains at reg price

This is the feature I'm most proud of. CatchDoms scans Common Crawl data across 49 country-code TLDs (.fr, .de, .uk, .ca, .it, etc.), finds domains that expired and were
never renewed, verifies availability via DNS + registrar APIs, and lists them. Ready to register at standard price. No auction bidding war.

Developer-friendly

  • API access with full filtering support
  • MCP Server: plug CatchDoms directly into Claude Code or Cursor for AI-assisted domain prospecting
  • CSV Export for bulk analysis
  • Keyboard shortcuts (j/k navigate, f favorite, o expand)

Quick setup (< 2 minutes)

  1. Sign up (Google SSO or email)
  2. Browse domains with smart filters (TLD, language, age, score, backlinks, category)
  3. Star domains, add notes and tags
  4. Set expiry alerts so you never miss an auction deadline
