What does it actually do?
You can now give Claude the power to make permission decisions entirely on your behalf. It can autonomously write the code, run the tests, realize a dependency is missing, give itself permission to run the install command, and fix the bugs—all while you are not even looking at the screen!
Why is this such a big deal?
For productivity, this is the ultimate dream. Your AI can finally work like a true independent junior developer in the background without constantly bothering you for approvals.
But for security? It is raising some massive red flags. If the AI hallucinates or pulls a malicious package from the internet by mistake, it has your direct permission to execute it on your local machine.
